winter

I love winter; the way the air is always crisp and fresh, how the snow sticks in your hair when you go iceskating, the splash of the rock when you complete your mission to break the thin blanket of ice on a pond, the way stripped trees stick out at odd angles.

This is my favourite time of year; curled up in a blanket beside an open fire, when the wind whistles and rain pelts as you are snuggled up in bed, the frothy, milky milo filled to the brim topped with cloud like marshmallows.

Today we learnt how to play badminton in the  gym  with Amy our badminton coach

Shared lunch

Today for a end of term treat we had shared lunch. There was lots of food 

Ruebin's Reflection

Today in writing we made sentences from a picture that was on the screen. We were learning clauses and compound sentences. A clause is when there is a noun and a verb that are put together. A compound sentence is two clauses in one sentence.

Eg of a compound. Ruebin is awesome and Riley is fast.

This weekend for my own self learning I decided to learn a little about Chemistry. I learnt that the symbol for Silver is Ag. This comes for the word Argentum. The country Argentina was named after this latin word because the thought there was lots of silver there.

This week in Writing we have been looking at how we use nouns and verbs in a sentence to create clauses.
Here is some writing we did as a class

Fear drips off her whimpering body. A voice on the other end of the phone whispers haunting words. Her fingers twitch nervously on the side of the window. Her eyes widen.
