Science

This term Room 3 is busy learning all about animals and their adaptations.

As part of our learning we have been carrying out experiments to understand why animals have the adaptations that they do.

We have looked at some of the different ways animals keep warm, and currently have an experiment underway testing how successful wool, blubber and skin are at insulating animals.

Why birds have the beaks they do has also been an experimental focus for us. Here are a sample of pictures of us using a range of tools to represent different 'beaks' and see how successful they are at 'eating' a range of ingredients.

Keep an eye out over the coming weeks as we continue to learn more about animals adaptations and work towards creating our own animals!
